The Fester is a local band who has kicked around here for about two years. They play a progressive-alt rock with synth style with funny lyrics on top sung by their characteristic singer. They often have themes for their concerts such as "NO to glasses"(while wearing glasses). The one thing they want the audience to do is to "Röjja" which can be compared to just dance your ass off as the motherfucker you are.
France is romance
Bossen(Shaunti Hoshi remix)
Song about Igor
I buy new guitars(with more expensive labels each day just to make cee fall in love with me)
We are the fester
The first time I saw them is quite blurred. I nearly remember anything than the synthguy said he was "mad" at the audience because they didn't dance. The second time I saw them I wasn't dancing and I got beer on my neck who a drunk friend sprayed on me. The third time I saw was the first time I heard the song "France is romance" which is probably their best song. Recommended to download along with "Rävsåpa" and "Destroy". I haven't seen them live for a while because of the fact that they play on clubs that have the "you must be 18 to enter" policy. Too bad, they are at their best when live since they dance around the stage themself and play with an incredible energy many local bands miss.
None of the local bands around here are anything as cool as this.
Really? What stuff do they play then?
There's mainly cover bands, and a little bit of crappy blues played for old people who like to pretend they're bikers. Supposedly there are a few good punk bands in the area, but they never play locally.
Hmmm, there are loads of punkbands and there is monthly gigs by Ska/Reggae/punk bands in my hometown. There was this blues event once too. But what is missing is a consistent Noise/Noise-rock band.
Supposedly Allentown's rap scene is pretty good, but that's something I'm not into. If I ever manage to find musicians who want to deal with some of my crazy ideas (microtones, polyrhythms, lyrics consisting of nonsense-syllables intended to make fun of the concept of "meaningful" lyrics) things will change.
There is a rap scene here too. Though most of them aren't that special or so. We don't have many DJ's.
Things will change you say? The only thing that can change things is someone/somebody/a bunch of people who want things to change.
I've been listening to them quite a bit after you posted this. Good stuff. Thanks.
